Social Media Manager vs Digital Marketing Manager, what’s the difference and which one do you need for your business?

Social media manager vs digital marketing manager

The problem is that there are a lot of people who claim that they are social media managers or digital marketing managers, but it turns out that they really don’t know what they are talking about. This is why you need to know what to look for when hiring a social media manager or a digital marketing manager for your business.

In this article, I will try to give you a very broad overview of what a social media manager and a digital marketing manager do. Depending on your needs, you can then decide whether you need a digital marketing manager or a social media manager.

The digital marketing industry is constantly evolving, and there are a lot of new terms being used every day. In order to make this article somewhat short, I will skip a lot of the definitions you will find in a digital marketing textbook, and I will only discuss the concepts that are relevant for this article.

What is a social media manager?

Social media is an internet marketing channel which allows you to interact with your customers and potential customers on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or Instagram. A social media manager is responsible for making sure that you are using social media to your advantage. He or she is responsible for posting on your social media profiles, responding to your customers’ questions, and, on some occasions, creating new content for your social media profiles.

If you are running a business, chances are that you are already using social media to some extent. You are posting on your Facebook page or on your Twitter account, but at this point, you are doing everything all by yourself. You are posting, you are responding to customers’ questions, and you are creating new content. With a social media manager, you will be able to delegate some of these tasks to someone else, and you will free up some time for yourself.

What is a digital marketing manager?

For the most part, digital marketing is marketing which doesn’t take place in a physical store. Of course, there is still a lot of offline marketing, but the majority of marketing today is digital marketing. What does that mean? It means that you can either create digital ads or you can promote your business online. You can create a website or a blog, and you can promote it online. You can create a YouTube channel, and you can promote it online. In other words, digital marketing can take place everywhere on the internet.

So, what does a digital marketing manager do? Well, a digital marketing manager is responsible for creating and promoting your online marketing. Depending on the size of your budget and your needs, your digital marketing manager can be responsible for creating and promoting your website and your blog, and he or she can be responsible for creating and promoting your social media profiles and your YouTube channel.

The good news is that there are a lot of tools which make digital marketing easy. You can create a very basic website or a blog in a matter of hours, and you can promote it online in a matter of minutes. So, you don’t need to hire a full-time employee to create your website and to promote your website. However, if you are running a business, chances are that you are not tech-savvy, and you are not tech-savvy enough to promote your website or your blog. These are the cases where hiring a digital marketing manager makes sense.

When to hire a social media manager and when to hire a digital marketing manager?

The short answer is: if you are a business owner, you should hire a digital marketing manager, and you can hire a social media manager on a freelance basis.

In the long run, when you have a bigger budget, you will need a digital marketing manager. In fact, when you have a bigger budget, you can hire both a social media manager and a digital marketing manager. However, the reality is that most business owners don’t have a bigger budget, and they can’t afford to hire both a social media manager and a digital marketing manager. So, the question is: do you need a social media manager or do you need a digital marketing manager?

If you are running a small business, chances are that you need a part-time social media manager. I wouldn’t recommend using social media without a social media manager or a digital marketing manager, but if you are on a limited budget, you can use social media with the help of a part-time social media manager. If you need a full-time social media manager, you should hire a social media manager on a freelance basis instead of hiring a full-time social media manager.

If you are running a big business, chances are that you will need a full-time digital marketing manager. If you are running a small business, you can use digital marketing on a smaller scale, and you can try it out on a part-time basis. So, if you are running a small business, you can use digital marketing with the help of a part-time digital marketing manager. If you are running a big business, you will need a full-time digital marketing manager.

As you can see, there isn’t a single answer to the question: do you need a social media manager or do you need a digital marketing manager? It all depends on the size of your budget and on the size of your business.

What is the main difference between a social media manager and a digital marketing manager?

The main difference between a social media manager and a digital marketing manager is that digital marketing managers use a lot of different tools. They use tools for creating websites and blogs, they use tools for creating social media profiles, they use tools for creating YouTube channels, they use tools for promoting websites, they use tools for promoting social media profiles, they use tools for promoting YouTube channels, and they use tools for promoting other online marketing channels. So, you can say that digital marketing managers are jack-of-all-trades, while social media managers are more specialized.

With that being said, there are a lot of social media managers who are also digital marketing managers. In fact, social media managers have been around for a lot longer than digital marketing managers, so social media managers have had more time to learn how to promote their businesses online. In fact, most social media managers know how to use a lot of different marketing tools, and most social media managers have a digital marketing manager on their team. So, in most cases, the main difference between a social media manager and a digital marketing manager is that one focuses on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and other social media channels, while the other focuses on websites, blogs, social media profiles, YouTube channels, and other online marketing channels.

In conclusion, social media managers are responsible for using social media to your advantage, but they don’t know how to use other online marketing channels to your advantage. Digital marketing managers are responsible for using websites, blogs, social media profiles, YouTube channels, and other online marketing channels to your advantage, but they don’t know how to use social media to your advantage.

If you are running a business, I hope that this article has helped you to understand the difference between social media managers and digital marketing managers. In my experience, most people who need a social media manager or a digital marketing manager don’t really know what they need. They think that they need a social media manager, but they actually need a digital marketing manager who can use a lot of different tools.
